I’m sure that your social media has been flooded with sickness updates, so I wanted to give you some holistic tips that will help you through the upcoming February vacation.
Any little bit helps!
Black Elderberry is an incredible herb that is used for immune strength. Not only is it delicious, which makes it easy to consume, but it is also safe for the whole family. You can mix it into iced tea, use it as syrup on breakfast, or simply take right from a spoon.
It is higher in antioxidants than most berries, including blueberries, goji, cranberries and blackberries, and you know how much I love my antioxidants!
Elderberry Syrup naturally fights against colds, flus, allergies, sinus issues, nerve pain, inflammation, chronic fatigue, constipation and more.
I have been giving Ali 1/8 of a teaspoon 3x a week, with a spoon or on her waffles, and I also take 2 tsps a day 3x a week.
When purchasing, look for UMF 15+ or, 20+. If over 15+ use only 1 tbsp a day.

Epsom Salt and Bentonite Clay
Let’s start with Bentonite Clay.
Did you know that animals instinctively eat dirt and clay to help remove poisons from their systems during illness? Smart!
We come in contact with toxins everyday, from airborne, to cleansing products, to our own shampoo, and Bentonite clay helps to cleanse our body of these poisons.
It does this by bonding its negative charge with a positive charge in a toxin, absorbs it, then releases it’s minerals for the body to use; including calcium, magnesium, silica, sodium, copper, iron and potassium.
Add 1/4 cup of Bentonite Clay to a bath for it’s relaxing detox effects, use as a face mask, gargle with warm water for healthy teeth and gums, or use on cuts and scrapes.
Onto Epsom Salt! A true miracle worker.
-Ease Muscle aches
-Better nutrient absorption
-Speeds up wound healing
-Boosts Immune system during illness, especially respiratory illnesses
-Aids in acne, eczema or other skin issues (I often put 2 tbsp into Alessandra’s baths)

GET SOME SLEEP!
yes, that’s really Madilyn sleeping in a wagon
Sleep is vital to our health. It is when we are sleeping that our body can heal, rest, reset, and repair.
Take a step back from the “I’ll sleep when I’m dead” mentality. You cannot work if you’er too sick, so give yourself extra time at night to get to bed at a decent hour.
Turmeric Ginger Tea
Both ginger and turmeric work as an anti-inflammatory army in our body, and turmeric has one of the highest antioxidant counts of all known foods. Consuming both will help ease upset stomachs, and are great for skin, brain and heart health as well.
Make your own with;
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoons ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
- Manuka Honey, Organic Honey or Lemon to taste
Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan, then add turmeric and ginger. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 5-10 minutes. Pour into a glass and add honey and/or lemon.
Here’s to staying healthy!
